Below the fold on the front page of the Monday – 1-21-08 - issue of the Arizona
Republic - appears this article … “scientists has recently identified higher-than-expected concentrations of endocrine disruptors in Arizona rivers” … Wait just a minute, now, my Governor and the head of her DWR and ADEQ continue to assure me and you that our water is “safe.” Does science actually mean to infer that our water is not “safe”…? These same public servants would not lie to us, would they..?

These chemicals which science note dwell in our Arizona water are most assuredly linked to cause cancer, infertility, birth defeats or other health problems. What about their probable impact on autism, early onset of Alzheimer’s, attention deficit disorder, or other learning and/or behavioral afflictions…?

The truth is “we” don’t know because “we” don’t want to know. “We” are secure in the cocoon so eloquently and elaborately spun for us replete with 24/7 techno-music jingles psychologically designed to resonate leaving us “food” to be consumed by the omnipresence corporate for profit machine of the select power elite.
In the movie … A Few Good Men … the character Col. Nathan R. Jessep (actor Jack Nicholson) … uttered these rather memorable words. …”you want the truth, you can’t handle the truth” … Perhaps there is more truth in those few words than “we” care to admit…? “We” – that’s you and me – privately and for a few openly chastise and take government and our regulators to task for their apparent refusal to “come-clean” with us. I for one, believe as part of the oath they take to solemnly swear to serve and to protect - us – inherent in that oath is the demand they come clean with us on everything. But what do we do to those who dare utter what for them is the truth…? We, as a result of our education and training, demean, isolate, belittle, degrade, debase, humiliate, ostracize, banish and shun and make damn sure everyone else takes notice, lest you be our next victim…?

Maybe the character is correct, we can’t handle the truth except as it is spoon fed to us intravenously by our corporate captors…?
