a foretelling of a foreboding
A foretelling of foreboding and yet unrevealed Arizona’s water issues which heretofore the water purveyors, regulators and political leaders were able to conveniently sweep under the rug and hide from your . . . ?
But, if you choose, believe it when our Governor and her Director of DWR and ADEQ solemnly swear that your water is “safe.”
A lingering concern which I have is not only the quantities of TCE found in this water source, but what our public regulators and reputed leaders are doing to honestly make the public genuinely aware of the long term health affects of TCE. Question, does TCE attach itself to the “slime” with builds up inside of most potable water pipe lines…? If so, is there some remediation action which the water purveyor might take to counter-act this…? Is there any third party verification that any such remediation action is successful…? And how does the water industry define this success…? What actions, if any, should a prudent homeowner take especially one whose water piping is old galvanized…?
TCE - Trichloroethylene mainly affects the central nervous system (the brain), causing headache, nausea, dizziness, clumsiness, drowsiness, and other effects like those of being drunk. TCE can also damage the facial nerves, and it can cause skin rash. Heavy exposure can damage the liver and kidneys. TCE causes cancer in animals and may cause cancer in humans. I just love how industry is able to insert the word – may – as it relates TCE to cancer in humans. You just got to love it when you have the power to define terms to CYA, don’t yea…?
This is but the tip of Arizona’s water iceberg and it is way past the time that “we” – that’s you and me – paid attention.
