behind closed doors

If you chose not to read Ms. Robert’s article in the Saturday issue of the Arizona Republic you did yourself a disservice. Her article was entitled … Protect the children, not CPS …

The email exchange Ms. Roberts posted between State Rep. Linda Lopez and Mr. Alan Griggs (who appears to be one of the “little-people”) depicts with certain clarity, the contempt with which your elected representatives hold you and your opinions.

This exchange gave me pause to wonder why would any sane individual chose to permit CPS to operate solely behind a door of secrecy…? It seems perfectly sensible to me the mission of CPS is to protect children, not some damn agency imagine, rogue or incompetent agents…?

I for one have had my belly full of the need for alleged secrecy granted without oversight under the reputed – “Patriot Act” – initiated by the current administration. Why are governmental agencies so afraid of having you and I look over their shoulder…? What in the world is so frightening they need to hide it from our prying eyes…?

It seems to me any agency alleging to protect our children ought to be truly transparent open to challenges that “we” see as either wrong doing or misunderstanding on our part.
CPS should not ever be allowed to operate behind closed doors eliminating transparency.
