this is water study transparency for Arizona
Published: 04.04.2008….U.S. plans big study of water resources …Gannett News Service …WASHINGTON – EXCERPTED … TUCSON CITIZEN
For the first time in 30 years, the U.S. Geological Survey will conduct a census of the nation's water resources to give federal, state and tribal officials information on water usage.
The 10-year, $95 million study would divide the country into 21 major river basins and look at stream flows, ground water levels and recharge, water pollution, population trends and water use
For “us” – that’s you and me – to be assured of the honesty and transparency of this study “we” need to follow the money…?
“We” need to know precisely who is conducting this study...? Who is underwriting this study…? What facilities are being studied…? What are the questions being asked and most importantly that “we” have a prominent seat at this table.
To accept any conclusions from any study conducted otherwise is simply foolish.
“We” can demand and attain accountability, responsibility and transparency; it’s solely a question making sure “we” have our collective voice heard…!
