TRANSPARENCY AND CORPORATE BOTTOM LINE

A perspective for your consideration . . . ?At first blush it may not be readily apparent to American citizens and especially those in Arizona of the long term potentially devestating health implicatations of this latest arbitrary and very capricious action of the Bush administration’s EPA.

Diverting water from one water body to another is certainly nothing new or novel. What is complete new and novel is the ability to divert without any discharge permit heretofore required to identify the pollutants we are allowing to be redirected into a new and different water body.

Recent history is filled with volumes of issues we created for ourselves by allowing water to be diverted in the first place. Arizona’s vaunted CAP is filled with the foreign invasion of the “zebra mussel” which reaks havoc on the pumps and other machinery necessary to keep this vital water flowing.

Realizing this will smack for some as yet another form of “conspiracy” theory, I must ask, who’s interest’s are best served by the EPA action. The answer certainly is not us – that’s you and me. Those multinational water purveyors certainly benefit from this EPA action and I would postulate provides them the legal cover they seek to elimiinate all accountabiity and/or responsibility for the ill health effects this “new” water brings…?
