continuing to be hoodwinked

Sewer oversight report casts doubt … By Michael Hays … Tuesday, June 5, 2007 7:44 PM MST … Lake Havasu News-Herald … EXERPTED

Lake Havasu City Mayor Mark Nexsen has not lost any confidence in the future of the sewer project, despite a gloomy report from an oversight committee Monday night. He gathered from the presentation that the project is still on schedule and still at or below budget but improvements are needed in several areas.
Over the next two weeks to 90 days, representatives from the two engineering firms in question will meet, come to "professional conclusions" on areas of disagreement, and periodically report to council on progress, he explained. "By the end of this, we will have areas for corrective action," Nexsen said. Perhaps acceptable ranges would have to suffice for some areas, such as flow projections, an area of considerable disagreement.

AMEC, the engineering firm paid by Lake Havasu City to attend to daily operations of the 11-year sewer project, was placed under the microscope Monday during a City Council work session. AMEC - being responsible for so many aspects of the important $463 million project.

After a search, City Manager Richard Kaffenberger hired RCI for $120,000 in October 2006 to play the role of watchdog. Possible consequences of a poorly run sewer project include increased maintenance of repaved streets, sewer line breaks, cost uncertainties, and a shortage or excess of sewer capacity, according to the oversight committee.

Continuing to be “hood-winked” … ?

The voters in Lake Havasu were deliberately and intentionally deceived by ADEQ and with a “gun-to-their-head” voted to indenture their community for a sewer system reputedly when completed with interest to cost nearly a BILLION dollars.

While water and sewer rates increase exponentially for the citizens residing in Lake Havasu and forced to connect to this abortion sewer system, “corporate” America thrive$.

Let’s see we had the original engineers who designed the system, now we have an oversight engineering firm and now we add another player to watch the “watcher” … and where is the input for “us” – that’s you and me – in this equation.

Or don’t you care to have “voice” in this “gravy-train”…?
