POSTURING IS WHAT GEORGE BUSH DOES BEST

China Rejects Binding Targets On Greenhouse Emissions
by Staff Writers … Hamburg (AFP) May 29, 2007 …EXERPTED …
China on Tuesday promised to "do its best" on fighting climate change but rejected calls that Asia should sign up to binding targets on cutting carbon emissions. Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said China and other Asian nations cannot bear the same responsibility for restricting greenhouse gas emissions as the developed world.
"The developed world should do more but China will do its best," he said at the closing press conference of the Europe-Asia meeting (ASEM) of foreign ministers in Hamburg that brought together top diplomats from 43 countries.
"We believe that in fighting climate change we should have a common goal but differentiated responsibilities," Yang added, quoting from a declaration adopted at the meeting.

Posturing … that’s what world leaders do best when it comes to all aspects of global warming. And, why shouldn’t they, as the USA taught them the art of … “do what I say, not what I do” …

The USA is totally defenseless to mandate China accept a target on anything as the Chinese along with their Japanese counterparts essentially own our economy as the USA is nothing more than a “paper-tiger” in the economy of the world. Our balance of payment with both China and Japan makes us nothing more than “lunch” should these two power houses choose to “dump” their American dollars thereby sending our vaunted American economy into an abyss from which it may never recover.

President Bush and his entourage can bluster and posture and develop with assistance from corporate controlled mass media trite 30 second sound bites depicting “George” as the “commander-guy” pontificating from atop his soap box.

Meanwhile China and Japan are driving full speed ahead oblivious to “commander-guy’s” nonsensical pronouncements.
