our government wouldn't do that, would they, you think

IF you’ve stood in line at a farmers’ market recently, you know that the local food movement is thriving, to the point that small farmers are having a tough time keeping up with the demand. But consumers who would like to be able to buy local fruits and vegetables not just at farmers’ markets, but also in the produce aisle of their supermarket, will be dismayed to learn that the federal government works deliberately and forcefully to prevent the local food movement from expanding. And the barriers that the United States Department of Agriculture has put in place will be extended when the farm bill that House and Senate negotiators are working on now goes into effect.
Our government wouldn’t do that, would they, you think…?
You don’t want to believe that corporations exercise that degree of control and greed over you, but think again, they do and ruthlessly…!
Corporate AG is indeed powerful and suppressing the “little-local-farmer” usually rates little more than a phone call to their favorite attorney, lobbyist, and politician and “presto” the little guy is stopped dead in his tracks.
But, it’s OK because “we” get to eat corporate AG’s - “Franken” - foods, those genetically modified and fortified products with chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, artificially ripened with chemicals and special lighting, then shrink wrapped and sent to your grocery shelf to excite your palate and good health.
Local grown foods – who needs them anyway…? Same thing is happening to your water.
Don’t believe it, do you… ?
Food producers know and feel it immediately when you judiciously vote with your money. Don’t buy it and they won’t produce it. It’s really that simple
