lobotomozed life is simple in Arizona
Jerusalem (AFP) March 24, 2008Israel's water authority was set to impose restrictions on household water consumption as the country grapples with one of the most severe water shortages in years, an official said on Monday.
"The situation is bad, it is very bad. There is an acute water shortage in the country," water authority spokesman
With the rain quantities for this year's winter standing at 50 to 60 percent of the annual average, Israel's reservoirs today stand at a 10-year low, according to official figures.
And a string of four dry winters has brought the country's main water source, the Sea of Galilee, to its lowest level in 46 years.
The country's groundwater, including the western aquifer which it shares with the Palestinians, is also at a dangerously low level and the quality of its water is worsening.

Israel a leader in water technology, especially desalination and water efficient delivery to agriculture and also located in a desert environment publicly notes it is facing an acute shortage of water.
On the other hand, Arizona, with JUNIOR rights to water in the Colorado River, to which our elected leaders have indelibly tied our economic future, remains stoically silent.
But, fear not for Arizona regulators in cooperation with our Governor grant a magic certificate assuring a 100 year supply of safe potable water to anyone making such a request. That “we” are all for the most part drawing with our separate straws from the same bottle of water does not appear to change that smiling expression on the regulators faces as they robotically continue to provide this “magic” paper.
And having been sufficiently “lobotomized” from years of education provided by benevolent corporate funding we too, smile and dutifully believe in the magic of this piece of paper.
Life is indeed simple and so sweet in Arizona.
