HEY IT'S JUST ONE WORD

ARIZONA REPUBLIC

How Important Is One Word …?

I mean how important is one word…? After all we live in the midst of 24/7 informational sound bites filled with scientifically structured “buzz-words” designed to hypnotically program our robotic reactions. So how important is it that – low food security – is substituted for hungry …? After all, everyone will automatically know that low food security and hungry are synonymous. Won’t they…?

ADEQ – ADWR … That USDA chose to define hungry with convoluted language should be their prerogative, shouldn’t it…? After all the Arizona Department of Water Resources can choose to permit developers and realtors to distribute their 100 year water assurance statement as valid knowing full well the limited truthfulness contained in those pieces of paper. Moreover, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality can call itself protectors of your environment in spite of the fact they are knowingly allowing continue degradation to your water and air.

Water Tight – Leaking . . . To ADEQ these two words are synonymous. They certainly must be. After all the vaunted ADEQ – RULE book – notes that all septic tanks manufactured and sold in the State shall be water tight. But, then allows each manufacturer to “self-certify” that his product does not leak. Isn’t the fox guarding the hen house…? And moreover, the ADEQ – RULE book – notes that all septic tanks installed in Arizona shall be water tested at the site. But, alas there are no enforcement or compliance provisions, so, again isn’t the fox guarding the hen house…?

After all we’re only substituting one word and they are synonymous – at least to ADEQ they are.
