WHAT PROACTIVE STEPS HAS ADEQ DIRECTOR STEVE OWENS TAKEN WITH RESPECT TO PERCHLORATE FOUND IN THE DOMESTIC RESIDENTIAL WATER WELLS NEAR THE “CHIP” PLANT ON TATUM DRIVE NEAR THE CAP CANAL . . ?
The headlines below are from the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Los Angeles Times noting the result of current study on the effect which Perchlorate has on woman.

Perchlorate Linked to Thyroid Deficiency in Women -Many of those exposed to the rocket fuel chemical have weakened function, a study finds. The contaminant is a threat, the California health department says. - By MARLA CONE, TIMES STAFF WRITER - October 5, 2006 Many women exposed to perchlorate, the rocket fuel chemical that has contaminated hundreds of Southern California water wells, have suppressed thyroid function, which can lead to health problems in them and abnormal brain development in their offspring, according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published Wednesday.Over the last century there has been an enormous increase in the number of chemicals that we come into contact with throughout our everyday lives. Chemicals are present in the houses we live in, the food we eat, the water we drink, the toiletries and cosmetics we use, even in the air that we breathe. With well over 70,000 in existence, escape from contact with chemicals is impossible, as they now exist in virtually every facet of our modern lives. Therefore, it may come as a shock to discover 75% of the commonly used chemicals that we encounter so regularly have not even had minimum safety testing and there is no obligation on the chemical industry to properly assess the chemicals they sell or to use safer alternatives.
Perchlorate is but one of these chemicals. I renew my questions to you, Mr. Director, what proactive measures has your agency implemented to assure perchlorate in these domestic water wells does not adversely impact the woman in Arizona…?
We hope your response is not continued silence …!
