PUT THE BAT IN OUR HANDS

Tucson is better prepared than most when it comes to water …Published on Saturday, May 24, 2008 … excerpted
The news stories talked about an unprecedented drought that was so bad the region’s largest cities had declared water emergencies. The situation became so serious officials said they could run out of drinking water.
Was this someone from Tucson Water or the Arizona Department of Water Resources referring to Arizona’s drought?
No, the extracts from the news stories concerned Atlanta and the southeastern United States’ drought that extended through 2007 and continues into 2008.
While anything is possible, the same scenario is highly unlikely to happen in Tucson or in Arizona.
The drastic shortage problems that have befallen some eastern cities have not befallen Arizona because the state is ahead of the curve in using the Central Arizona Project (CAP) to help in its water stewardship efforts that ensure our long-term sustainability. That long-term water protection makes Tucson a destination for businesses ranging from industry to technology.
Unlike Atlanta, Tucson is protected by the foresight of those who developed the CAP which reliably delivers needed water to Southern Arizona.
In addition, the state has taken added steps to ensure that water’s availability by instituting the Assured Water Supply (AWS) rules. Simply put, the state will not allow anyone to build in the Tucson area unless they get an AWS certificate. To get the certificate, the developer, commercial or residential, must prove there is a 100-year supply of water available to support that development.

Foolishly “we” allow them to have us believe their magic paper will for us water provide.

Does any Arizona citizen actually believe that the ADWR vaunted 100 year assured water supply certificate will when their well runs dry provide water for them to survive…?

For if you do, I still have some of that ocean front property in Arizona available for you.

Arizona’s water stewardship “we” granted to them without any input from us or oversight.

If we want real water in our future, we need to step to the plate put a big bat in our hand and in a very loud clear voice demand full disclosure accepting only honest answers and keep asking them repeatedly until the truth is plainly revealed.

And while we’re at it … follow the $$$ see where is leads …
