SPEED KILLS & MONEY CAMOUFLAGES IT ALL
E J Montini’s column in the 7/17/08 issue of the Arizona Republic … entitled speeders can buy their way out of tickets, I found particularly thought provoking, what say you…?
Speeding now thanks to those brilliant folks we elected to serve and to protect us, in our state legislature is now nothing more than a potential near 100 million dollar a year source of revenue.
And we don’t even need human to enforce or collect, it’s all done by machine, remote cameras, detached, sanitized. Save when some innocent is killed and thanks to our legislature no record shows that driver’s distain for another’s life.
I must admit I was asleep at the wheel as I did not even know this was pending or on the slate of laws these elected nincompoops chose to create.
Who the hell benefits from this moronic act…? I don’t think I do, what say you…?
Justice is reputed to be blind for good reason, but certainly justice is not supposed to be stupid.
Is this the reality in which we really want to live…? Do we really believe we have not personal accountability or responsibility to self and others in any size or shape…?
The clear, concise and understandable (branding and labeling) message we choose to impart to all our young is … with money everything and anything is possible and you will never be held accountable or responsible… This is the reality and legacy we leave and impart to them, look in the mirror, proud of that person looking back at you…?
I say any legislator who voted for this law needs to be replaced and NOW, idiots like them we do not need to bastardize those honestly attempting to serve and protect us…
LATE EDITION …. Lead article, Friday – 7/18/08 – Arizona Republic, Valley & State section - like Deep Throat told journalist Bob Woodward … just follow the money as DPS to add 100 new “photo-robo-radar-camera- cops” on state roads all designed essentially to add only to the state coffers, they’re not punitive, they don’t save lives, it’s Arizona’s answer to Nevada’s slot- machines
